Final Year Project

Introduction to Final Year Project

For my final year project, I developed a Game-Based Learning game titled “Fun of Chemical Elements” designed for Year 4 students at SK Bandar Baru Sintok. The game falls under the puzzle and education genres and aims to teach students about chemical elements and molecules through interactive gameplay.
By leveraging the power of gaming as an educational tool, this project enhances student engagement with visually appealing graphics, immersive gameplay, and multimedia elements such as text, images, audio, video, and animations. These features make learning more enjoyable and effective, encouraging students to focus and retain the knowledge better.

Tools I Use:

Unity

I use Unity to develop interactive and engaging games with a focus on education. Unity provides a versatile and user-friendly environment for creating games that incorporate multimedia elements such as animations, audio, and video, making it the ideal tool for game development projects like "Fun of Chemical Elements."

Procreate

Procreate is my go-to tool for creating visually appealing 2D illustrations and artwork used in the game. It allows me to design custom graphics that enhance the game's overall aesthetic and provide engaging visual content for players.

Figma

Figma is an essential tool I use for designing user interfaces (UI) and creating prototypes. It helps me plan and visualize the game's layout and flow, ensuring a smooth user experience by prototyping interactive elements before implementation.

Low Fidelity Prototype

The low-fidelity prototype serves as an early-stage version of the game, focusing on the core functionality and layout. It outlines the structure and flow of the game with basic visuals and gameplay elements. The primary objective of this stage was to test the overall concept and game mechanics, ensuring they align with the educational goals.

High Fidelity Prototype

The high-fidelity prototype represents a fully polished version of the game, complete with finalized graphics, animations, and multimedia elements. At this stage, all visual elements, sound effects, and educational content are fully integrated, providing a near-complete user experience.

Visual and Interactive Elements

The high-fidelity prototype included all graphic assets, animations, and multimedia elements like audio and video to create a more immersive and engaging learning experience.

User Testing

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amaThis version was tested with actual users—Year 4 students from SK Bandar Baru Sintok—where their feedback was gathered to refine the final product.
